ART PORTFOLIO

This was an installation at the Lo-Fi Arts Festival in 2012. I found an old dollhouse at a garage sale and installed a hive of bees in it. On the back, I attached a plexiglass wall and on top of that, a plywood wall. I left that on for most of the summer so they could use it as a hive, coming and going from the front wall.

All that was in my backyard in Seattle. When the festival time rolled around, I sealed it up (at night, to minimize the number of bees that would be out foraging), then transported it to a field on the property where the arts festival was held. For the day of the event, I took the plywood back off so you could peer into the bee house during the show.
